An Egyptian firm, Gaber Group Mining Services Limited has signed an agreement with Federation of Small-Scale Mining Associations of Zambia to facilitate the acquisition of mining equipment at a lower cost.
Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka, Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia Moartez Anwar re-affirmed his government’s commitment to supporting the growth of the mining sector.
Mr. Anwar stated that the partnership between Gaber Mining and the Federation of small-scale miners will accelerate the relationship that exists between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Mines Permanent Secretary Barnbay Mulenga, in a speech on his behalf by Human Resource Director in the Ministry Moses Nyirenda, said government will continue to support the growth of small-scale mines in the country.
And Gaber Mining Group Chairperson Rammy Gaber thanked government for providing a conducive environment for the private sector to thrive.
Meanwhile Federation of Small-Scale Mining Association of Zambia President Joseph Mwansa said the association is excited with the partnership.
Mr. Mwansa disclosed that small scale Miners faced numerous challenges hence the signing of the MOU will help in growing the sector.
