Buildcon is lagging. Take the lead in Week One

Limping Buildcon defeated fancied Green Eagles 2-1 away in Choma on Saturday to grab an early lead in the 2021 FAZ Super League table.

Due to practical issues, Buildcon limped into the new season with a late pre-season three weeks ago after losing 10 key players to other teams while their colleagues were a month and a half into their training.

Defender Warren Kunda put the Eagles ahead in the 12th minute, giving the home team a good start.

However, Lubinda Mundia scored a brace in the 28th and 50th minutes, one in each half, to give Buildcon the three points and top spot.

Meanwhile, promoted Konkola Blades are second following a 1-0 home win over Power Dynamos in a poor game played at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

Ronald Chibwe scored the lone goal in the 63rd minute for the home side.
