Chief KABAMBA of the Lala people in Serenje District says Zambia is headed for a bumper harvest resulting from the early input supply and the good rainfall pattern so far.

Chief KABAMBA says inputs distribution this year has been unprecedented and that there will
be no hunger if all farmers put the inputs to good use.

He was speaking when Nyimba Investments Head of Sales and Marketing WILLINGS MULENDEMA visited him at his Palace in Serenje after checking on some selected Farmer Input Supply programme -FISP- beneficiaries.

Chief KABAMBA has further applauded government for promoting crop diversification through FISP, which now has additional yields given to farmers other than maize.

And Mr. MULENDEMA said it is satisfying to see most farmers in Chitambo and Serenje Districts working hard to ensure they contribute to the production of the staple crop.

MEANWHILE, Serenje District Agricultural Coordinator JACOB SHAWA said promoting crop diversification through FISP should be supported as it will enable farmers to be both food and income secure.
