COSAFA WINNERS: Bafana Bafana Catch Chipolopolo on WEEKEND SCORECARD

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana has surpassed Zambia in terms of COSAFA Cup titles won.

South Africa won the 2021 COSAFA Cup on July 18 after defeating Senegal 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The event was held in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa, from July 6 to 18.

Bafana joins Zambia as the only teams to win five COSAFA Cups, one less than record holders Zimbabwe.

South Africa hasn’t won the COSAFA Cup since lifting the trophy in Windhoek in 2016, when Namibia hosted the tournament.

Both Zimbabwe and Zambia, the 2019 COSAFA Cup champions, had a disappointing performance at the 2021 COSAFA Cup, being ousted at the group stage.
