Southern Province Permanent Secretary MWANGALA LIOMBA, says some people in Livingstone have created an artificial congestion at the site for the mobile issuance of National Registration Cards because of their late response to the exercise.
Mr. LIOMBA however says the government officers conducting the exercise will not be rushed by anyone to speed up the process, because they follow laid down procedure during the issuance of the national identity cards.
Mr. LIOMBA has told ZNBC News in an interview that most residents waited too long to get their identity cards and are now complaining that the process is slow.
He has explained that the officers have a strict verification process that they need to follow and advised applicants to be patient.
Mr. LIOMBA has described the prevailing situation as unfortunate and says members of the public should respond to important national programmes with seriousness.
