Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa says he withdrew from the mayoral race to pave way for more woman applicants to contest for the mayoral seat.

Mr. Sampa has said that he is an advocate of women empowerment.

And Mr. Sampa said he will be more useful to the party as he stands for the Matero Constituency seat.

He said this is the other the reason he withdrew from the mayoral race yesterday.

Mr. Sampa said Matero residents want him to stand as he has 80 percent plus support from them.
