No. 6 seed Karolina Pliskova was eliminated from the 2021 Australian Open on Saturday.

She was defeated by her Czech Republic compatriot Karolina Muchova 7-5, 7-5 in their third-round tie at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty moved to the fourth round with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova.

In the men’s singles, Rafael Nadal brushed aside Britain’s Cameron Norrie 7-5, 6-2, 7-5 to book a spot in the next round.

No. 4 seed Daniil Medvedev dropped two sets but managed to overcome Serbian Filip Krajinovic 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6, 6-0 to advance in Melbourne.
