Pambashe Member of Parliament Ronald Chitotela has called for quick implementation of the Kalungwishi power project by the Ministry of Energy to help connect the Green 2000 Zambia farming block in Kawambwa district.

Mr. Chitotela says the 39-million-dollar project has a lot of farming activities with pivot irrigation that needs electricity.

Mr. Chitotela who is also Tourism Minister was speaking when he toured the Green 2000 Zambia farming block which has produced the first harvest of maize crop for the 2020-2021 farming season.

He has thanked President Edgar Lungu for initiating the project in his constituency.

And Green 2000 Zambia General manager David Durandi said the project has developed four modules which among them is to help 2,000 small scale farmers in the area.

Mr. Durandi explained that the project is also helping to train the community on how to prepare seedlings for nursery on its green houses and has employed over 4-hundred locals.
