President EDGAR LUNGU says he is optimistic the PF will emerge victorious, without a re-run, in this August’s general election.

The President has explained that a first round win is possible because of the support that the party is receiving from the grass root.

Speaking when addressing delegates at the PF general conference, President LUNGU said he is also sure of victory because the PF has delivered in the area of health and infrastructure development.

He has explained that his government is also continuously working hard to promote the manufactureing sector, so that more jobs can be created for Zambians.

President LUNGU has outlined several of his government’s achievements, sincen the PF came to power, such as developments in education, agriculture, energy, aviation, labour, and other social-economic sectors.

He has told the party members to ignore critics of what the PF government is doing, because everything is being done according to the party manifesto, which is in the interest of Zambians.

President LUNGU has therefore reiterated that as the general elections campaigns start, the PF will just be pointing at the developments, which it has implemented.

He said the party would like to continnue with these developments, after August 12, when it forms government again.

Meanwhile, President LUNGU has thanked Vice President, INONGE WINA for her loyalty, adding that she, as well as his wife, the First Lady, ESTHER LUNGU and his children have played a key role in his Presidency.

The Head of State has also thanked the PF members for the support they have given him, following the death of Late President, MICHAEL SATA, who was founder of the party.

The PF conference, which will close tomorrow, is expected to vote for the party President, endorse a Presidential candidate for the general election, and also usher in new members of the Central Committee.

The main gathering for the conference is in Lusaka, with delegates from the provinces gathering in their regions, and connecting to Lusaka, via virtual link, due to COVID-19.
