President Lungu laments the death of a State House photographer.

President Edgar Lungu has expressed condolences to the family of late State House Photographer Eddie Mwanaleza, who died today at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

Mr Mwanaleza, 61, has been praised by President Lungu as a long-serving servant of the nation “whose image gallery could tell the full tale about Zambia.”

“Mr Mwanaleza had immense experience, which I personally observed here at State House. This is a great loss not just to his family but government and state house, in particular. It is also a big loss to the media fraternity. My thoughts are with his family, and may his soul rest in eternal peace,” Mr Lungu said.

Eddie Mwanaleza, who eventually became attached to State House from ZANIS, was a seasoned photojournalist who worked for practically all public and commercial media outlets before being attached to State House in 2012.

Mr Mwanaleza is survived by his wife, Diana, and children, and his funeral will be place at his home in Lusaka West.

The President’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, Isaac Chipampe, made the announcement to the media.
