Prince William was left livid after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle deliberately misled the public about the timing of their son’s Archie’s birth last year, the Express reports.
Despite the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan’s son and William’s nephew was born at 5:26am, Buckingham palace didn’t trumpet news about the baby until 2pm the following day.
That’s according to the new book by royal sage Robert Lacey, Battle of Brothers, which chronicle’s the emotional cancer that metastasized in Harry and William’s relationship in recent years.
When the palace made its announcement about the joyous news, it implied that Meghan was only just going into labor with William’s nephew, Archie. But in fact, she was already home with the infant.
He wrote: “Harry and Meghan were resolute that their newborn baby’s first sight of the world should not be the same insane and lethal camera-flashing that had attended — had actually brought about — the death of Diana.”
Meghan Markle and Harry ‘deliberately misled’ the public which angered William says expert
According to Lacey, this sleight of hand on the part of Meghan and Prince Harry where Archie’s birth was concerned considerably miffed Uncle William.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as Harry and Meghan are also called, had “deliberately misled the public” about Archie’s grand arrival in Prince William’s eyes, The Sun reports.
An avalanche of reports have indicated that William and Harry’s once close ties frayed to a breaking point after Meghan arrived on the scene and permanently altered the chemistry between the royal brothers.
This schism culminated in the Sussexes dropping the bomb in January that they were flying the coop from senior royal life in the United Kingdom. A couple of months later, they settled in Meghan’s native Los Angeles and have been busy establishing a lavish life of privilege and wealth for themselves in the tumultuous months since.
When each of their three children were born, Prince William and Kate Middleton introduced their newborns to the world’s press on the steps of the Lindo Wing hours after their arrival.
MARK MADE: Meghan Markle & Prince Harry angered William by ‘deliberately misleading’ public about Archie’s birth, expert claims
As for Prince Harry and Meghan, they thumbed their noses at the new-baby protocol observed by William and Kate and waited two whole days before their first photo with Archie, which was taken at Windsor.
Shockingly, Lacey reports that Prince William’s consternation over Meghan and Harry’s baby-hiding efforts is why the Duke of Cambridge, as the elder sibling is known, didn’t even meet his baby nephew until he was eight days old.
Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla all turned up within hours of little Archie’s arrival to “coo over the baby,” Lacey writes.
Today, however, Prince Philip’s attitude toward Meghan has soured considerably, given his disdain for the Sussexes’ scheme to go out on their own in the United States. According to the Daily Mail, if Queen Elizabeth’s ailing 99-year-old husband were still blessed with vigor he would have gone after the couple more forcefully to warn them they were damaging the monarchy with their free-wheeling plans.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who gave up his naval career to support the Queen, 94, when she ascended the throne in 1952, was ‘internally very upset’ over Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle’s, 39, decision to step back from the royal family, according to Ingrid Seward.
Prince Philip, 99, would have been ‘more influential’ in challenging Prince Harry over Megxit if he’d been younger because he felt the choice was ‘damaging to the monarchy’, royal expert claims
Seward stated that Prince William and Prince Harry’s grandfather — and Archie’s great grandfather — “wasn’t going to let the Duke of Sussex see how upset he was” over his plans to take off for America with Meghan.
“If Prince Philip would have been younger, he would have been more influential,” Seward opined.
“He would have told Harry, ‘Are you sure you know what you’re doing? Do you know what you’re giving up?’”
In more tragic, Archie-related news, the royal family is reportedly crestfallen that they won’t get to see Harry and Megan’s now-toddler-age son (William’s nephew) this holiday season, US Magazine reports.
“Everyone was so looking forward to catching up with them, as well as Archie,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly following news that the 17-month-old and his parents will remain in the United States over the holidays. “They’re looking forward to making the most of things regardless.”
