Senior Chief MUKUMBI Ibaloli of the Kaonde people of Kalumbila District has implored chiefs not to be partisan.

Speaking at his palace when Ministry of national Guidance and religious affairs Assistant Director of information, and communication Heather HANENE visited him, the traditional leader said Chiefdoms must not be centers of politics.

Chief MUKUMBI appealed to Zambian to be patriotic in prioritizing matters that affect the country and live in harmony as the country goes to the General elections next.

And speaking to ZNBC News in a separate interview at His palace Chief Mulonga of the Lamba people of Mushindamo District thanked the Patriotic Front Government for recognizing chiefs as partners in development.

Chief Mulonga called on traditional leaders to work with the Government of the day in promoting peace and unity in the country.

Meanwhile, Ministry of national Guidance and Religious affairs Acting Assistant Director of information, education and communication Heather Hanene appealed to traditional leaders to remain agents of peace.
