The Ministry of Home Affairs says the Department of National Registration Headquarters and other offices in Lusaka which were shut due to the four Covid-19 cases that were recorded, are likely to be reopened this week.

Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Masiye Banda says the premises will be reopened because the number of Covid-19 tests conducted, are showing good results.

Mr. Banda told ZNBC News in an interview that the centers remain closed but will be reopened to the public so that the issuance of National Registration Cards -NRC’s can continue.

He says the Ministry is working closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure all Covid-19 protocols are strictly followed in all centers.

Mr. Banda further says once reopened, all centers that were closed will strictly operate under the corona virus guidelines.
