The mortality toll from coronavirus in Mexico has risen to 228,754.

On Saturday, Mexico reported 2,649 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infections and 186 new fatalities, bringing the overall number of cases to 2,432,280 and the death toll to 228,754, according to the Health Ministry.

Separate official data recently released reveals that the true death toll may be at least 60% higher than the verified total.
