Vice President INONGE WINA says Government has made positive strides in its economic recovery programmes amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mrs. WINA says the country’s economic recovery has shown positivity through partnerships and support from the private sector.

The Vice President has further thanked the private sector for their continued supports towards the fight against the COVID-19.

Mrs. WINA was speaking when ABSA Bank Chief Executive Officer MIZINGA MELU called on her at her office today.

The Vice President also thanked ABSA Bank for supporting the agriculture sector through their empowerment programmes.

And Mrs. MELU disclosed that her bank has doubled support towards Government’s Farmer Input Support Programme -FISP.

She said agriculture is one of the key sectors that the bank has prioritized to support due to its positivity in transforming the country’s economy.

Mrs. MELU also said ABSA is elated with the increasing copper prices on the international market and that the bank will continue supporting the mining sector.
