Wilson Mulinda-First Lady ESTHER LUNGU has encouraged mothers of Children with special needs to bring them out for support to be given to them.

Mrs. LUNGU says people with intellectual disabilities have suffered the worst forms of abuse and discrimination while being ridiculed by society.

The First Lady said this when the ESTHER LUNGU Foundation Trust donated 10 wheelchairs to the Special Olympics Zambia at State House.

She said it is sad to note that persons with disabilities are treated as invisible members of society.

Meanwhile, Special Olympics Zambia Board Chairperson CLEMENT CHILESHE said the donation will enable the institution to reach out to the many requests it has received for wheelchairs.

Dr. CHILESHE said his organisation will continue partnering with the ESTHER LUNGU Foundation Trust to ease the stress of parents of Children with special needs.

And a mother of a beneficiary, SHIBA LUBAYA has thanked Mrs. LUNGU for coming to her aid.
