Wilson Mulinda-Home Affairs Minister STEPHEN KAMPYONGO has urged officers under the department of National registration to carry out their duties diligently and without intimidation.

Mr. KAMPYONGO said Government will not allow the trend of registering citizens who are not Zambians by dubious means.

Speaking when he checked on the mobile registration exercise in Mazabuka District, Mr. KAMPYONGO said the law stipulates that only a relative can accompany one for registration, failure to which, nothing will happen.

He said sister institutions under his ministry will continue supportig the department to ensure that the exercise is a success.

Meanwhile, Department of National Registration Provincial Officer MAURICE KALIMUKWA told the minister that the exercise is so far going well in southern province.

Mr. KALIMUKWA said over 50 groups have been stationed at different points with an overwhelming turn out.

And Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament GARRY NKOMBO expressed happiness that many people in his constituency are getting their NRC.
