Wilson Mulinda-Lusaka Province Minister BOWMAN LUSAMBO says he will put an end to illegal mining in the Province.
Mr. LUSAMBO says he will engage the line cabinet ministers of Mines, Chiefs and Traditional Affairs as well as Lands in an effort to end the vice.
Speaking when he checked on some gold mines in Rufunsa District, Mr. LUSAMBO said it is disappointing that foreigners are the ones benefiting from the mines when majority of Zambians in the area are still suffering.
He has called on law enforcement wings to conduct regular inspections in the area because there are many illegal activities going on.
And Mr. LUSAMBO said a meeting with stakeholder ministries has to be called to resolve land disputes among Chief SHIKABETA, Chieftainess MPANSHYA and Chief CHEMBE.
He has urged the three traditional leaders to follow the right procedures and offices to air their concerns rather than engage in violence.
Mr. LUSAMBO said Government will continue working with the traditional leaders for the benefit of their subjects.
