General Sikazwe says despite operating in a hostile environment, the Zambian troops endured until they successfully protected the civilians.

He says the Zambian peacekeepers have contributed to peace and stability of the Central African Republic.

General Sikazwe said this in a speech read on his behalf by General Grade Officer Operations Branch Colonel Ethel Kunda who received the peacekeepers at ZAF Lusaka Airbase.

The Zambian troops landed aboard a United Nations chartered plane from the Central African Republic where they had been deployed for a year on a tour of duty.

And ZAMBATT Officer Commanding for command composite Major Kingsley Bukowa emphasized the need for Zambians to safeguard the peace the country has been enjoying since independence.
